Landlord, Robert Shepherd, is an Edinburgh-born local with a passion for Scotch single-malt whisky. Robert is also a historical tour guide with his own company, Thistlestop Tours, and he not only takes guests on historical walking tours of his native city but also bespoke day-trips around Scotland.
Now, Robert is combining his love of Scotland’s national product with his penchant for storytelling to bring you our new Monday night Drams & Tales events at the Thistle Street Bar.
This is your chance to experience the atmosphere of a traditional Scottish pub in the oldest street in Edinburgh’s New Town with no one else in the bar except a small group of no more than 10 guests each with a love of whisky and tales of Scotland’s dark past.
